Meghan Markle has welcomed the final guest to speak on her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, who has a staggering £1.3 billion net worth.

Sara Blakely, the founder of woman’s shapeware giant Spanx, joined the Duchess of Sussex to discuss that need "get real about bet on yourself”.


The discussion centred on Blakely’s own journey, beginning as a simple fax machine salesperson in 1998 who turned her idea into a globally recognised brand.

The entrepreneur only had a paltry £3,694 to invest in her fledgling business that would late be valued in the eight figures.

Meghan and Blakely agreed that this demonstrated the importance of “betting on yourself” even against tough odds and pushing through no matter what.

The pair agreed that: "Grit, intentional design and a scrappy mindset were essential in transforming a humble start into a thriving global business".

On the pod, Blakely revealed that she is launching a new range of shoes, Sneex.

The news delighted Meghan, who has recently launched her own range of products under her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

Explaining her excitement about her latest venture, explained that she always felt the desire to “show up for people” and demonstrated the same attitude in her business.

The Duchess revealed that the launch of her business, which saw her send baskets of products to celebrity pals and influencers, matched her “down to the core” of what she has always enjoyed.

“I have been making preserves, I've been giving fruit baskets, I've loved to garden,” she glowed.

Meghan also nostalgically reflected on her homemade brand’s own humble origins, explaining she had relied on a sole lemon tree at her bungalow – long before the garden paradise of her £21 million Montecito mansion.

The Duchess also spoke about how her desire to 'show up for people' had long be ingrained in her.

She shared that, even years later, that story had been the “undercurrent” of how she approaches her business and was “ingrained” in her professional relationships.

As Ever got off to a rocky start when it launched last month, with hopeful customers enraged after being told their orders of her £21.60 honey would not be fulfilled.

They were informed the product, among others, had sold out in mere minutes due to overwhelming demand.

According to the As Ever website, the coveted honey was "inspired by Meghan's own appreciation for the art of harvesting this natural delight at her family home in Montecito".

Meghan recently shared a video of her and Princess Lilibet tending to their bees.

Despite the setback, Meghan is evidently still passionate about her honey as she shared a sweet video on Instagram.

The video, posted on Sunday, show Meghan and her three-year-old daughter Lilibet holding hands as they walk towards a beehive.

Royal watchers were given a rare glimpse of Lilibet's face as the she turned towards her mother during the outing as she sported a pair of colourful rainbow wellies.

The footage shows them from behind as they approach the hive, before Meghan bends down to affectionately rub her daughter's back.

The sweet moment was accompanied by The Archies' song "Sugar Sugar" playing in the background as the Duchess shared this glimpse into their family life.
